Pacific Islands and their relations to the USA and / or the UK
In the story WEB we read about the fictitious Pacific island of Tanakuatua and its people.
In THE ATOMIC CAFE, a documentary that also shows Pacific nuclear testings, some Pacific islands are mentioned that were affected by the nuclear blasts.
In the film THE COCA COLA STORY you can see how part of the American way of life was brought to some unknown Pacific islanders,
Now let's get some pieces of information about real, existing Pacific islands.
For that, form groups of four or five (from 2 forms), please.
These are your tasks:
Choose one Pacific island that had or still has relations with the UK or the USA.
Find out about
- their history and environment
- how they are affected by environmental problems and
- what the inhabitants live on.
Keep a working log on the Wiki platform.
Pick, write down and learn eight new words every lesson.
Present your findings on a wallpaper and deliver an oral presentation after the Easter holidays.
